Hello friends,
Welcome to June's journey of Plein Air 365! And I must admit it was quite a busy month filled with travel, art shows, and many wonderful places to paint.
une started with poppies, poppies, and more poppies! I really enjoy painting poppies. They vary from soft, delicate, and almost transparent to very bold and full of body. They are challenging and wonderful to paint.
Between driving from Denver to Evergreen, we went to Fort Collins for my dear friend's wedding, and what a great time it was. Besides seeing a beautiful wedding, I had a chance to paint some white roses. I also had the chance to do a painting of a can of tomato soup. This was no ordinary can of soup, it is an actual hand signed Andy Warhol Tomato Soup Can, that stands about 15 feet tall. It's a little odd to see something so New York in a town that is so Colorado. If you're ever in Fort Collins, Colorado, it is a piece of art worth seeing. (read complete letter)
